Sinangohprendeng, Kajen – Warga Pekalongan, memanfaatkan lahan kosong dan tak terurus menjadi Agrowisata Labu Madu, bertani dengan model polybag ini cukup menjanjikan dan menguntungkan juga bisa dilakukan dimasa pandemi covid 19.
Banyak lahan kosong yang masih belum tergarap secara maksimal dibiarkan tak terurus, agar lebih bermanfaat sebagian lahan kosong milik Desa juga warga dimanfaatkan dengan Agro Wisata Labu Madu (Cucurbita Moschata).
Salah satu yang dicobakan adalah lahan milik Desa di Sinangohprendeng Kajen Kabupaten Pekalongan Jawa Tengah, lahan yang tak terpakai ditanami labu madu dengan sistem polybag menggunakan karung bekas dan diberi tiang serta penyangga bambu.
Tanaman labu madu yang dicobakan ini ada sekitar 1000 pohon, buah labu madu yang dikenal dengan sebutan “Pumpkins Butternut” atau “Butternut Squash” itu berbentuk seperti kacang tanah dengan ukuran besar, labu memiliki rasa yang manis dengan tekstur lembut serta mengandung serat yang tinggi, antioksidan, beta-carotene, vitamin A dan vitamin B kompleks.
Buah labu madu diyakini sangat baik jika dimanfaatkan sebagai makanan pendamping Air Susu Ibu (ASI) untuk bayi, tingkat kemanisan akan semakin meningkat setelah buah disimpan minimal dua bulan, daya simpan buah juga bisa mencapai enam bulan.
Lahan labu madu ini juga bisa menjadi Agrowisata petik buah labu madu, hal itu sangat memungkinkan karena di wilayah Kabupaten Pekalongan, 60 persen wilayah nya adalah pertanian.
Model penanaman kabu madu ini bisa membangkitkan minat bertani dan berkebun pemuda desa saat pandemi covid 19 seperti sekarang ini.
Labu madu cukup menyuntungkan, dipasar biasa Rp 20 ribu per kilogram meskipun harga jual di toko-toko modern Jakarta berkisar Rp 50 ribu hingga Rp 70 ribu per kilogram, bagi pengunjung yang ingin berfoto-foto atau sekedar menikmati keindahan diperbolehkan asal tidak merusaknya.(4son)
