Kue yang dibuat tidak seperti umumnya dipasaran, namun dia melakukan inovasi agar tampilan lebih menarik dengan rasa juga tetap enak Ny. Niken kemudian membuat bolu gulung bermotif batik khas Pekalongan.
Pembuatan dimulai dari adonan roti seperti biasa lalu diwarna sesuai kebutuhan, adonan lalu dibuat untuk membuat motif batik di atas kertas roti dan dikukus setelah sekitar dua menit adonan roti yang tak berwarna di tuangkan lalu dikukuas bersama sekitar 20 menit atau sampai matang.
Roti yang sudah matang kemudian digulung saat masih panas sehingga terbentuk roti gulung batik yang indah nan cantik, roti kemdiain dikemas khusus agar awet juga tidak mudah rusak.
